The Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce offers networking opportunities throughout the year, which provides you with invaluable contacts that give your company a dramatic boost, regardless of size or turnover. The Chamber offers a full calendar of networking events that provide members of the business community with the opportunity to build relationships and stay connected with others in the local business community. Nurturing co-operative relationships with other specialised companies is an effective way to optimise your complementary skills, and at the same time, maintain a degree of flexibility that is required in this increasingly competitive global marketplace. We encourage you to participate in any of our networking events highlighted below:
Annual Congress
The ZNCC Annual Congress has become a popular event aimed at bringing together key business leaders, Government decision makers, labour unions and the relevant stakeholders in the country to discuss some critical issues relating to the economic development of the country. A wide variety of sponsorship opportunities are available for this prestigious event. This event includes extraordinary speakers, opportunities to exchange ideas and explore business partnerships.
Annual Business Dinner and Awards
The Annual Dinner and Awards held by the different regions in the country provide a unique forum for the business community to share an evening of networking and business-building. The events honour prominent members of the business community with the presentation of top awards. Awards are given to the Exporter of the Year, Businessman and Woman of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility and Rural Business Person of the Year. Recognition is also given to the Small and Medium Enterprise of the year. The evening usually commences with a keynote address delivered by a well-known national or international figure.
Business Luncheons and Breakfast Meetings
The Chamber provides members of the business community with the opportunity to discuss the current business climate in their given area over breakfast or as a luncheon. It provides a means for business owners to participate in business advocacy and lobbying efforts.
Business Forums
Business forums are held by the Chamber on a regular basis. Preliminary researches on various issues affecting business, such as legislation, are conducted by the Chamber and the research findings are presented to the relevant stakeholders in order to achieve an environment which is conducive to profitable business undertakings. This is another opportunity for businesses to interact and exchange information that will ensure sustainable business development.
Golf Days
Golf is considered to be the “Sport of the Business World” because many rounds of golf are played by business partners and associates and decisions are made on the golf course as well. Because golf is at times a part of a businessperson's schedule, the Chamber holds golf days as a means of ensuring the business community is able to network, even outside the normal business settings.
